James was born in 1815.

He married Margaret Jones on 17 May 1841 in Merthyr Tydfil.

England and Wales Census of 1841 (Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan, Wales):

Arrived on 21 May 1855 in Philadelphia on the ship Chimborazo which had departed from Liverpool 17 Apr 1855.^[1]Remained in Pennsylvania through 1856. By 1858, had traveled to Caseyville, St. Clair County, Illinois.

He passed away in 1879 in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales.

Research Notes

• After his first wife died, this man went back to Wales and died there. His children created this memorial for him, but he did not die in the United States. The children were taken to Utah by their mother's brother. (From Find A Grave).
