Biography
- Austin Resby Hughes was born in 1808 in Kentucky to Tolliver and Susannah (Gamble) Hughes. He married Martha Sullivan on August 30, 1832 in Gibson County, Indiana. They were the parents of Samuel (born 1840), Francis M. (1842-1921), Commodore Perry (1846-1926), Nancy W. (1847-1921), Mary J. (born 1848), Sarah L. (born 1852), William Henry (1852-1924), and Austin (born 1855). He died in 1879 at about the age of 71 in Menard County, Illinois.
