Biography

Tolliver Hughes was born about 1784, in Kentucky to William and Mary Polly (Foster) Hughes. He married Susannah Gamble on May 17, 1807, in Nicholas County, Kentucky. They were the parents of at Austin Resby (1806-1879), Davenport (born 1810), Robert (born 1811), Nancy (1814-1864), Margaret (1814-1888), Molly (born 1815), Artemessa (1816-1854), Susannah (born 1817), John (born 1826), Mary Jane (1826-1876), and Martha and William M. (both born 1827). He died in 1835, in Gibson County, Indiana at the age of 52.
