(AP) -- Funeral services will be held Tuesday for Drake University Prof. Stanford Hulshizer who died of cancer at his home Saturday at the [age] of 63. He was a native Nebraskan. Mr. Hulshizer, director of music education at Drake, had been ill for about six weeks. He was well known for his presentation as choral director of Handel's "Messiah" every year during the Christmas season. Mr. Hulshizer joined the Drake faculty in 1929 and founded the Drake choir a year later. Born at Seward, Neb., he was a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University at Bloomington, where he also received his master's degree. He also attended Kansas State and New York Universities. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Stanford, Jr., and Dale; a brother; two sisters, and four grandchildren.[5]
