Thomas was born in Bracken, Kentucky in 1798.
His family moved through several states purchasing land and settling a spell and then on again.... as his father and family ventured from South Carolina to Tennessee traveling towards Kentucky and settling in Illinois.
Growing up in Illinois he married a neighboring area farm girl Mary Edmondson in 1824 in Illinois.
Thomas served as a Illinois State legislator "Hunt, Thomas, 8th, 9th, 10th Sessions" shown here in the Illinois Blue Book pg 392 [1]
Thomas' Will was in Probate 1841 here are 4 pages [2] and [3] and [4] and [5]
He mentions his son John as heir and if the last child born is a son and then when John comes of age, will then divide the estate between them both; last child was a daughter Isaline born 1840 after her father's will was written 1840. (Father died Dec 1840) After wife Mary passes away the daughters will divide her portion. I believe it to be his brother James the executor of the will

Research Notes
Illinois Blue Book: Illinois Legislative Roster — 1818-2019, This roster includes members of all 101 General Assemblies that have met since Illinois became a state in 1818. The 1st General Assembly, which met at Kaskaskia on Oct. 5, 1818, consisted of only 14 Senators and 29 Representatives. In contrast, the current General Assembly — the 101st — has 59 Senators and 118 Representatives. Members of the 16th General Assembly, which convened in Springfield on Jan. 1, 1849, were the first to be elected from defined districts. House members of the 74th General Assembly (1965-66) were elected “At Large” because of the failure to reapportion
