Biography
Mrs. Bessie B. Stump, 75, of Colchester died at 10:40 AM Monday at McDonough District Hospital.
She was born Aug. 20, 1899, at Colchester, the daughter of Ralph and Minerva Foster Hunter. She resided all of her life in the Colchester area and was a lifelong member of the Colchester Baptist Church. On Aug. 23, 1919, she married Charles L. Stump. He is deceased.
Surviving are eight children,
- Mrs. Lois Eberhard of Colchester,
- Mrs. Hazel Williams of Colchester,
- Mrs. Melvin (Minerva) Johnson of Springfield,
- Mrs. Calvin (Shirley) Friday of Macomb,
- Mrs. Albert (Doris) Blivens of Bushnell,
- Charles Stump of Peoria,
- Mrs. Tom (Norma) Snowman of Canton,
- Mrs. Charles (Donna) Dorton of Ottawa;
30 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren. A daughter, Betty Maxine Stump, two brothers, Will Hunter and Earl Hunter, two sisters, Jennie Hunter and Mrs. Ethel Bloomfield, and one grandson preceded her in death.
