From the book: Genealogy, history and biographical records of the descendants of Philip Hupp and Mary Buzzard... (III) GEORGE HUPP, son of Philip and Mary (Buzzard) Hupp, was b. abt. 1785,and married Rachel Archer and moved to Ohio about 1804. They had lived in the Western part of Pennsylvania near Wheeling, West Virginia along Wheeling Creek.

Quoting a letter written by Leland Hupp (1900-1972) of Canton, Ohio, she claims to posess Bible records with the following information;

"George Hupp was Pennsylvania Dutch and walked to Noble County, Ohio. He was a dark, thick-skinned man, very strong and very religious. A tanner by trade, he would float down to New Orleans with a load of furs and then walk back, making 40 miles a day. He contracted yellow fever on one of his trips and died when he was 40 years old”.

He is buried in Hesson Cemetery, Noble County Ohio. George and Rachel had 9 children, among them were James Daniel (also called Daniel) in whose line this record continues.
