Biography

Stephen Hurlbut was born about 1649, the son of Thomas Hurlbut of Wetherfield, Connecticut.

He married on 12 Dec 1678. Different sources name his wife as Phebe and also Dorothy. Stephen may have been married twice. [1]

He was probably a mechanic. The town of Wethersfield granted him "a piece of land 8 feet by 70 feet in length, flanking upon his own Lot next his house to set a shop upon." [2]
