Note N15354He was the son of Capt. William Huston and Susannah Boyd and was born either in 1805 or 1806. He grew up on the Ohio River and married Ann McNeal, a New York native, on Oct. 31, 1827. The family moved to Adams Co., Ohio in the 1840s and then on to Fall Creek Twp., Hamilton Co., Indiana in the late 1840s.
In the mid-1850s the family moved again to Huntsville in Madison Co. where they remained until the 1870s. Then they migrated to Wabasha Co., Minnesota. John's exact death date is unknown but it was after 1880.
John and Ann were the parents of 8 children: Jane Ann (1828-1837), Henry Clay (1830-1835), Ferdinand W. (1832-1837), Flora S. (Huston) Allen (1834- ), William G. (1836- ), Sarah E. (Huston) Hardy (1838-1906), Frances (1840-1842) and Darius R. (1844-1873). William and Darius both served in the Civil War.
