Estate of John Hutcheson
In October 1801, Reuben Padgett & Catherine his wife, Robert Allen & Elizabeth his wife, John Hutcheson and Thomas Hutcheson filed a Bill of Complaint in the Amherst County Chancery Court.
The Bill asked that the estate of John Hutcheson be divided and distributed to his children. It also asked that Thomas Edwards (Administrator of the estate) his wife Nancy and William & Charles Hutcheson be made Defendants.
Thomas Edwards was appointed guardian of William & Charles Hutcheson for purposes of the case as they were under 21 years old.
The land and other property was sold and the proceeds divided on 26 February 1802. ^[4]
