Biography

Elizabeth Hitchins aka Hutchens was born in 1765 in Virginia, the dau of Lewis Hutchins and Winnifred Land. About 1784/5 Elizabeth married John Sheppard aka Shepard. They were the parents of Lewis H. Sheppard b 1790 GA. John and Betsy Sheppard were charter members of the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Monroe Co., MS (May meeting 1819). Their son-in-law William M. Anglin joined during the July meeting in 1820. She passed away about 1848 in Monroe, Mississippi.
