James and Mary sailed on the "Glenmark', landing at Lyttelton on the 20 December 1866. Mary gave birth on the 14 October to their first child during the trip.[2]
They lived in Wellington, later Palmerston North.
He was a musician and music teacher.
He passed away on 4 Jan 1913 aged 67 years old. [3]
