Joseph was working as a hewer of coal (below the surface and a green grocer residing in Pwllgwann Road, Pwllgwann, Pontypridd, Glamorganshire, Wales with his wife Elizabeth.
Joseph died of atero-sclerosis while working as a coal miner on 9 May 1921 in Somerset, Washington, Pennsylvania, USA.[7]
Research Notes
It seems that Joseph and his wife Elizabeth never had any children, as none have yet been located. The couple also appear to live appart for considerable length of time as Joseph worked as a miner in America, however more research needs to be done to confirm if it is
the same Joseph traveled backwards and forth between America and England for work.
1904 he left from the port of Southampton, England on the Philadephia for New York, on 30 July 1904 and arrived on 6 August 1904.[8][9]
1908 he left from New York and arrived in Liverpool on 22 February 1908 at the age of 58.[10]
1889 on 15 February Joseph became an America citizen, according to the philadelphia passenger list.[11]
