Biography

Caleb Jackson was born in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, on September 3, 1769, the son of Ephraim Jackson and Bathsheba Trask.[1][2]

He married Zeuriah Keith, daughter of Jonathan and Hannah Keith, in Bridgewater on August 20, 1801.[3][4] She died June 11, 1844, aged 62.[5] Their first seven children were born in Bridgewater, but by 1821 they had removed to Winthrop, Maine, where their eighth and youngest child was born:

  1. Mary Keith Jackson, born December 21, 1801; married, September 11, 1827, Job Bartlett; died January 5, 1879.[6][7][8]
  2. Hannah Jackson, born February 2, 1804; married, int. August 31, 1823, Asa Copeland, Jr.; died May 13, 1885.[9][10][11]
  3. Adaline Jackson, born January 11, 1807; married, February 8, 1830, Horace Parlin; died May 1, 1843.[12][13][14]
  4. Elizabeth "Jane" Jackson, born October 6, 1809; married, October 17, 1848, Jesse Rice, of Lynn, Massachusetts; died December 1, 1875.[15][16][17]
  5. Jonathan Keith Jackson, born April 10, 1812; died August 2, 1842, aged 30.[18][19]
  6. Thomas Jackson, born September 17, 1814.[20]
  7. Samuel Jackson, born February 6, 1818; married, July 4, 1845, Julia Hewitt; died June 11, 1890.[21][22][23]
  8. Adoniram Jackson, born August 12, 1821, in Winthrop; married, December 2, 1847, Louise S. Ross; died May 5, 1881.[24][25]

Caleb Jackson died in Winthrop, Maine, on September 2, 1847, one day before his 78th birthday. He was buried at East Winthrop Cemetery in Winthrop.[5]
