May (Jackson) Read was born in Eastry, Kent, England.

May Jackson was born on 21 May 1887 in Eastry, Kent, England to parents John Frederick Jackson and Lydia Elizabeth Bishop. Her birth was registered in the Eastry District, Kent in Jun Quarter 1887.^[1][2] She was christened on 19 Jun 1887 in Walmer, Kent, England.^[3]

In 1901 she was age 13, living with her parents and siblings in Gillingham, Kent, England.^[4]

May married Thomas Louis Read on 25 December 1911 in Medway, Kent, England.^[5]

In 1939 May was living in Gillingham, Kent with her son Louis who was shown to be a theological student.^[6]
