Mercy L. Jackson was born in 1871 and passed away after 1940. She was the daughter of Hezekiah R. Jackson and Jerusha Hicks. Wife of Isaac F. Hendricks, [sic#Jr.].
Native American and African American ancestry:
Mercy's ethnicity was Native American on her mother's side and African American on her father's side. Mercy's family were recorded on the Earle Report of 1861 (10 yrs. before her birth) as members of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe in Mashpee, Barnstable, Massachusetts.[1][2]
Marriage:
13 Sept 1893: Mercy L. Jackson, 22yo, married Isaac F. Hendricks [sic Jr.], 29yo. at Mashpee, Barnstable, Massachusetts. This was the first marriage for each of them. They were both born at Mashpee and also living there at the time of their marriage. Race: Both Indians. Isaac is the son of Isaac F. Hendricks and Leah Alvis (Hendricks). Note: Isaac's mother, Leah, needs research for correct LNAB. Mercy and Isaac were married by Rev. I. N. Allen, Baptist Pastor of Merrimasport(sp?).[3]

30 Sept 1891: Mabel Lincoln (Unknown) aka: Jackson. Mabel was born out of wedlock at Mashpee, Barnstable, Massachusetts. Father not recorded.[4]
