Laura M Jackson is a part of US Black heritage.

Laura Matilda Jackson was born 1878 in Asheville, North Carolina to John and Angeline Jackson.[1]

In the 1900 census Laura Jackson (age 22 b Feb 1878) was the single daughter of John Jackson (age 75 b Mar 1825) and Anjaline Jackson (age 52 b Sep 1847) in Asheville Ward 1, Buncombe, North Carolina, with four siblings: Diley 20 b Oct 1879, Thomas 19 b Mar 1881, Wyatt 14 b Dec 1885, and Mattie 13 b Sep 1886.[2]

Laura Jackson 23 married Nevill Jackson 25 in Asheville, North Carolina on 28 Nov, 1901. They were both identified as White.[3]

They removed to Sycamore in the early 1900's. [1]

In the 1910 census Laura Jackson (age 32) was the wife of Nevil Jackson (age 34), barber shop porter, in Sycamore Ward 3, Dekalb, Illinois, with daughter Florence 7.[4]

In the 1920 census Alaura Jackson (age 40) was the wife of Tevil Jackson (age 43), laborer for private family, in Sycamore Ward 2, DeKalb, Illinois.[5]

In the 1930 census Laura Jackson (age 53) was the wife of Nevil Jackson (age 54), house cleaning, at 250 North Ave, Sycamore, DeKalb, Illinois, with daughter Mattie L 12, and grandson Theodore Taylor 11/12.[6]

Neville Jackson died in 1938 in Sycamore.

In the 1940 census Laura Jackson (age 62) was the widowed head of household at 250 North Ave in Sycamore, DeKalb, Illinois. Her sister Mattie [Jackson] Jones lived at 244 North Ave, the parsonage of the Israel of God's Church of the White Horse Army.[7]

Mrs Neville Jackson died on 31 Dec 1948, in Gary, Indiana where she was visiting her daughter, Mrs. Martha Ann Marshall. "Mrs. Jackson was deeply devoted to her home and family and to her church. She had been a very faithful and active member of the Israel of God's Church of the White Horse Army in this city for many years." Survivors include: Mrs. Florence Atkins of Dayton, Ohio, and Mrs. Martha Marshall and Mrs. Mattie L. Walker, both of Gary, Indiana; also a brother Wyatt Jackson of Sycamore, and a grandson Theodore R Jackson of the US Navy, stationed at Great Lakes, Illinois.[1] [8]

Laura Matilda (Jackson) Jackson was buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Sycamore, DeKalb, Illinois.[9]
