Biography
Laura Jagger was born on 3rd July 1861 in Clifton, the daughter of Mary Maria Jagger. [1]
In 1863, Maria married William Thornton, and in 1871, Laura can be found listed as Laura Thornton, living in Hartshead with her mother Maria, stepfather William Thornton, and half-siblings Sarah Ann, George, Daniel, and Ernest.
Laura married Thomas Pendleton in 1879 under the name Annie Laura Jagger. Her marriage certificate does not record a father. [2]
In 1881, Laura can be found with her husband Thomas and their son John. They are living with Thomas's adopted family, the Brittains. Also living with them are Laura's family; her mother Mary Maria Thornton, and siblings Sarah, George, Daniel and Ernest.
Laura died in 1939, age 78, under the name Hannah L Pendleton. [3]
