Céleste Janson is a descendant of an Acadian

Celeste, daughter of Jean Baptiste Jeanson and Marguerite Mirault, was born 28 Apr 1792 in the parish of Saint-Jacques-de-Montcalm, Saint-Jacques, Bas-Canada. Her godparents were Joseph Ignace Beaupres and Veronique Minault. [1]

Joseph Lor, widower of Marie Pelagie Bourgeois, and Celeste Jansonne, adult daughter of the late Baptiste Jansonne and the late Marguerite Mirault, were married 3 Feb 1835 in the parish of Saint-Jacques-de-Montcalm, Saint-Jacques, Bas-Canada. [2]

No known children of this marriage.


Celeste Jeansonne, widow of Joseph Lord and with a given age of seventy years, died 18 Dec 1861 and was buried 20 Dec 1861 in the cemetery of Saint-Jacques-de-Montcalm, Saint-Jacques, Canada-Est. [3]

The name Celeste is difficult to read in the baptismal record and was mistranslated as Felicite by PRDH.

Jean Baptiste Jeansonne and Marguerite Mirault did not have a daughter named Felicite. PRDH incorrectly transcribed the baptismal record, a careful reading of the entry reveals the name Celeste. [8]
