Biography

Daniel was born on 7 Mar 1850, the son of Daniel Janson and Maria Anna Helfinger.[1] Daniel married Katharina Maier on 20 May 1875 in Balzfeld.[2] They had 8 children: Maria Balbina, Maria Katharina, Aloysius "Albert," Maria Anna, Sophie, Amalie, Joseph & Daniel. They immigrated with their oldest 6 children arriving in Philadelphia on 14 Oct 1883 on the "Vaderland."[3] Listed right above them is Joseph, Theresia and August Sauer, in-laws of his half-brother Johannes who had immigrated in Mar of 1883. Daniel was a farmer who settled in Benton county, MN. He died in 1910 and was buried at Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery, Rice, Benton, MN.[4]
