Baptism

Thomas was baptised on the 12 June 1901 in Saint Paul, Deptford, Kent. His parents were Charles Anthony and Annie Jarman. The abode was 18 Railway Grove and the trade was bricklayer. [1]. Annie's maiden name was COTTENDEN [2].

Early Years

On the night of the 2 April 1911, Thomas was 9 years old and lived with his parents, Charlie, 53, and Annie, 48, and two of his siblings; Grace Charlotte, 12, and John Harold (Jack), 6. Thomas was at school. He had four more siblings, all of whom were living. The family lived in a three room house at 5, Glenville Grove, Mornington Road, New Cross, S.E. [3].
