More biography (by Joyce Jarvis): Rezia is in the records of Surry, NC from at least 1775-1808. He married Elizabeth Rose about 1775 in North Carolina. I have not been able to verify that her middle name was Hannon or Hannah. According to my research, Elizabeth Rose was the daughter of Bennet Rose and his first wife whose name has not been found to date. She had one sister with the same parents whose name was Lucy Parmelia or Malinda Rose. Evidently Bennet's first wife died and he then married Sarah Bradford and had 8 more children. Research has been done on this family by the Rose Family Association at http://www.rosefamilyassociation.com/html/Rose-Family-DNA-Project.html] GROUP L. I do not show any half siblings; instead I show that Jabez and Elizabeth___ had nine children. I do not show Jabez with a second wife nor any other children.
Rezia Jarvis is shown in 28 Jan 1779 Surry, NC on a petition to the House of Assembly from inhabitants of Surry Co. seeking redress for the way titles for vacant lands are obtained.
He is shown on a Surry, NC State Census for 1784-1787 (as a white male aged 21-60 with 2 white males under 21 and above 60 and 4 white females of all ages) along with John Jarvis (1-4-4) , Jabez Jarvis (-1-1), Abner Rose (1-1-1) and Sarah Rose (-3-4).
On 20 Dec 1791 he receive Grant No. 1467 for land on Fishers River from North Carolina. This gives his residence as Surry, NC.
In 1800, Rezia is listed on the census in Salisbury, Surry, NC with 3 males 16-25; 1 male 45 up; 3 females less than 10; 1 female 100-15 and 1 female 16-25. His name is misspelled Riegia Jarvis.
Sometime around 1810, Rezia Jarvis took up land in Warren, TN leaving his sons Levi & Abner in North Carolina.
In 1812 Rezia & his son Abner Jarvis both show up on the tax list in Warren, TN. At this time, this is the county next adjacent to White on the SW where many of the Roses migrated to.
Rezia and his family of 5 appear on the 1820 census of Warren, TN. He and his wife are both over 45.
Rezia died about 1835 in White Co, TN.
