Benjamin Jenkins Sr was born in Aug 1754 in Edisto Island, Charleston County, South Carolina, son of Richard John Jenkins (1736 - 1787) and Martha Rippon.
Benjamin married Hannah Fripp (1764 - 1826) on 23 Jan 1784 in St Helena Island Parish, Beaufort County, South Carolina. Their daughter was Mary (Jenkins) Bailey (1791 - 1852).

Death
Benjamin died on 6 Feb 1827 in Wadmalaw Island, Charleston County aged ~72. He wrote his will 9 Sept 1826, and it was proven 21 Feb 1827.[1]

Slaves
Benjamin Jenkins was a slaveholder. His will and his probate inventory named the slaves he owned at his death in 1827.[3]
