Son of Charles Mathes Jennings and Hannah Glover.

At age 18 he was in his father's household in 1850 in Drakesville, Davis, Iowa.[1]
His first wife was Nancy Louise Davis, 11 Aug 1853 at Fort Boise, Nez Perce, Idaho. It appears the marriage took place while en route to Oregon.
Nancy died in 1859 in Lane County, Oregon.
3 children: Charles T. Jennings, Clarissa Adeline Jennings and Lauretta Lavina Jennings, all born in Lane County, Oregon.
His second wife was Martha Jane Landes, married 15 Jul 1866 in Eugene, Lane, Oregon. Children: Mary "Mollie" Jennings, Augustus G. Jennings and George Lester Jennings.
Age 38 in 1870, living in Lancaster, Lane, Oregon.[2]

Martha died in 1877.
His third wife was Amanda E. Brown, married 1879.
