Biography

Ruth Jervis, the daughter of Edward Jervis and Matilda Hopewell, was born on Wednesday 15 June 1864 in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, England.[1]

She appeared in the 1871 census at Westwood Row, Tankersley.[2]

Ruth Jervis and George Bowden were married on 21 December 1879 at St Thomas' Church, Brightside, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. (Witnesses: Jonathan Hall, Ellen Bowden.)[3]

She appeared in the 1881 census at 44, Brook Street, Attercliffe, Sheffield.[4] She appeared in the 1891 census at 23, Swan Street, Attercliffe, Sheffield.[5]

Ruth appeared in the 1901 census at 29, Rotherham Street, Attercliffe, Sheffield.[6] She appeared in the 1911 census at 70, Rotherham Street, Attercliffe, Sheffield.[7]

She appeared in the 1921 census at 70, Rotherham Street, Attercliffe, Sheffield.[8] At the time of the 1939 register, she was living at 70, Rotherham Street, Attercliffe, Sheffield.[9]

She died in June Quarter 1941 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, at the age of 77.[10] She was buried on 24 June 1941 at Tinsley Park Cemetery, Sheffield.[11]
