Biography

William was born in 1822. He is the son of George Jess and Charlotte Huntley.

He married first circa 1842-in Scott’s Bay, Lavinia (Vinnie) Pineo. She was 26 Jun 1816 in New Brunswick and died circa 1911 in Scott’s Bay, family of one before divorcing.

He married secondly 3 Jun 1849 in Scott’s Bay, Elizabeth Pineo. She was born circa 1827 in Cornwallis Township, died 25 Feb 1896 and is and is buried in the Union Church of Scott's Bay Cemetery, Scots Bay, Kings Co., They had a family of eight

In 1871, William, farmer, 49, Elizabeth, 44, Rufus, 20, Charlotte, 19, Elizabeth, 11, Ezekiel L., 8, Anne, 6 and Henry, 4 were residing in Canning.

In 1881, William, farmer, 59, Elizabeth, 54, Rufus, farmers son, 30, Charlotte R., seamstress, 29, Elizabeth, 21, Ezekiel L., farmers son, 18, Annie R., 16 and Henry W., 14 were residing in Canning.

In 1891, William, farmer, 69, Elizabeth, 64, Charlotte R., nurse, 39, Ezekiel, house joiner, 28 and Elijah, farmer, 24 were residing in Canning.

He died in 1912 and is buried in the Union Church of Scott's Bay Cemetery, Scots Bay, Kings Co.
