Biography

Joseph Jaseph was born in 1744 in Warwick, Hampshire County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, the son of Joseph Jaseph (1724–1815 ) and Elizabeth Francis Robinson (1723–1767).

Joseph served in the Revolutionary War in 1777 in the same company (Captain Samuel Hubbard's) as his father, Joseph Joseph,[1] and 1778[2][3], and began receiving pension in 1818.[4]

Joseph married first Jemima Bosworth (1752–1783) on 10 Jul 1770 at Shrewsbury, Worchester, Massachusetts Bay Colony.[5] Their children were:

  2. Elizabeth Jaseph (1772–1830)[7]
  3. Jemima (Jaseph) Parker (1776- )
  4. Joseph Jaseph, Jr. (1779–1816)

Joseph married second Lois Kempton (1765–1826) on 8 Oct 1782 at Richmond, Cheshire County, New Hampshire, United States.[8] Their children were:

  3. Catherine Jaseph (1788– )
  4. Samuel Fordice Jaseph (1792– )

In 1800 and 1810 US Census Joseph resides in Richmond, Cheshire County, New Hampshire. In the 1820 US Census he resides in Warwick, Franklin County, Massachusetts.

Joseph passed away in 1825 in Warwick, Franklin County, Massachusetts.[4]

Jessop-556 and Jaseph-28 appear to represent the same person because: Most primary records for Joseph Jaseph are Jaseph and not Jessop. This surname becomes Jesseph and Jaseph in later generations.
