Biography

Elizabeth was born^[1] in Owsethorpe, Yorkshire, England, and baptised nearby in Eastrington in 1864. She was the daughter of Isaac Jewitt and Jane Voakes and lived with her parents in Owsthorpe.^[2]

Elizabeth's mother died in 1883 at the age of 45.^[3] In 1891 Elizabeth remained in Owsethorpe with her father and was the family's housekeeper.^[4] Her father died in 1892 at the age of 60.^[5]

Elizabeth kept house for her brother, Thomas, in Owsthorpe in 1901^[6] and then worked in the family's dairy at Duncoates Farm in Kilpin, Yorkshire.^[7]

Elizabeth died in 1943 at the age of 79.^[8]
