Biography
Thomas Ball to Abel Johnson 130 acres adjoining land of Col. Robert West on Kesiah River; April 15, 1718.[1] Abel Johnson, John Butler and wife Rachel, to John Hardy of Bertie. Mortgage on 145 acres of land on Cashoke Creek; May 3, 1718.[2]
Abel is listed as a freeholder in 1719.[3]
Research Note
Because he is not listed as an heir to Susanna Johnson, this means he is not the son of William Johnson. Timothy Johnson was the only one livingin the same area as Abel and John, so is the most probable father.
