Arthur David was born in 1892. He was the son of William Jones and Emma Cudby. [1]. He married Eva Cecilia Gibbons in 1917 [2] and then went of to war. He passed away in 1918 age 25 [3].
Arthur David Jones served in the Army during World War 1 (service number 44288 ) He was a Rifleman in the New Zealand Rifle Brigade, 3rd Battalion A baker in civilian life, he gave his next of kin as William Jones (father), of Upper Hutt, Wellington, He embarked 26 Apr 1917 aboard HMNZT 82the vessel Pakeha-arriving 28 July 1917 to Plymouth, Devon He was Killed in Action, 29 March 1918 at the Somme, Northern France and is buried at the Euston Road Cemetery, in Colincamps, Somme, France (Grave ref III. N. 1) [4] .
His brother Roderick was killed in action later the same year
