Biography

Martha was born in 1770. Martha Jones ... She passed away about 1840.[1]

A letter from Nancy Britton dates 9/3/1977 said that Burrell Russell Lee was born 10/6/1804 in halifax CO, VA and he married Luhana Paralee Swafford. She said it was family legend that Burrell and his older brother, Robert, came to TN with their widowed mother. She married a Mr. Miser or Meiser and later moved to CA. Nancy Britton said there were some recorded transactions in Hawkins CO, TN involving a Burrell Lee, also some Meisers, and she believed the Lee family may have lived in Hawkins CO prior to Bledsoe CO, TN. [2][3]

From, Robert Lee Of Tennessee Loyal Union Farmer, by Raymond and Melba Lee Murray. It appears Robert was living in Bledsoe County Tennessee in April of 1817 as he was witness to John McIver signing a deed of 177 acres to Michael Miser. Where Martha and Robert’s siblings were living at the time. P. 20 It’s possible Robert moved back to Virginia after his mother married Michael Miser. It was rumored they moved to California.

Burrell and Louhaney were listed in the 1850 Bledsoe Co, TN census.
