Biography

Walter was born on 4 Dec 1890 in Fordyce, Arkansas. He was the son of Ben Jordan and Liza Murray. Walter passed away in Fordyce, Arkansas on 21 Dec 1971 and was buried in the Stoney Point Cemetery, Bucksnort, Arkansas.^[1][2]

1900 Census: Walter Jordan is living with his parents, Ben E. (32) and Liza (34) Jordan, in the Fordyce Township of Dallas County, Arkansas. The record shows that Walter was 9 years old and born in Arkansas during November of 1890. Also residing in the home were Walter's siblings William (6), Frank (5), and Virgil (4).^[3]

7 Jan 1917: Walter E. Jordan and Miss Lula Naylor (19) were married in Dallas County, Arkansas. The record notes that Walter was 25 and a resident of Fordyce, Arkansas.^[4][5]

1930 Census: Walter E. and Nannie L. (33) Jordan are living in the Fordyce Township of Dallas County, Arkansas. The record shows that Walter was 39, born in Arkansas, and that he was 26 when he married Nannie. The couple have 4 children in the home: Gilbert (11), Mamie R. (9), Margie E. (6), and Reba Sue (3). Walter's widowed mother, Liza J. Jordan (66), is also listed as a member of the household.^[6]
