William Jordan and "Salley Preason" were married Dec. 23, 1807.
Jordantown, Bedford County, Virginia
Jordantown, Bedford County, Virginia: William Jordan, the community's namesake, married for the second time in 1852 to Margarette Overacre Margarette "Peggy" Overacre. He was the father of seven children by his first wife Sarah "Sallie" "Polly" Pearson. His daughter, Malinda Jane, married into the West family. The West's owned a lot of land in the area some of them having inherited from Samuel West. In his 1898 will, he left "a certain tract of land with mill known as the sawmill tract" to his son, George. To his other son, Isaac M. West and his wife, Jane, he left another portion of land. Madison West was a blacksmith who owned his own shop.[2][3]
