Cleone (Joseph) Mendez-Green is a part of US Black heritage.

Cleone was born in 1927 in New Bedford, Massachusetts, where she was a lifelong resident. She was the daughter and oldest child of Ira Joseph and Aletha Drayton. Both her parents passed away by the time she was 14. According to her obituary, she attended college and worked for St Luke's Hospital for over 30 years. She was also a life-long member of the Bethel AME Church in New Bedford. She married in New Bedford in 1946, and had two daughters. She passed away in New Bedford in 2015,
