Biography

Nathaniel Journey Sr. served with North Carolina during the American Revolution.

Nathaniel was born on 25 November 1765. He died in Iredell County, North Carolina on 7 October 1842.^[1]

Spouse: Lucy Estes Journey (1769-1846), married about 1785 in Virginia^[2]

There were two Nathaniel Journey's in Iredell County in the 1820 Census, one was Nathaniel Journey, Sr. and the other was Nathaniel Bacon Journey, his son according to their Find A Grave sites and Rev Journey's tombstone. Nathaniel Bacon Journey, Jr. died in 1828 and is buried at Snow Creek Methodist Church in Harmony.^[4]

According to the Iredell County Genealogical Society, Nathaniel Journey was a Revolutionary War Veteran.^[5]
