Peter Köppen was a Russian geographer, statistician and ethnographer.
Peter was born in 1793 in Charkiw. He was the son of Leibchirurg Johann Köppen (1752-1808) and Karolina Schultz (1777-1851).
He married Alexandrine von Adelung.
He was a Staatsrath and knight.[1]
He passed away in 1864 in Karabag.
