Marion Keeling was born in Washington county, Kentucky in 1832, to Rev. Benjamin Fowler Keeling and Rebecca Gordon Keeling. On October 21, 1857 he married Nancy Ray Searcy in Anderson county, Kentucky and they had two children, Benjamin Franklin and Martha Jane. He was killed in battle in Andersonville, GA.
Records indicate that Marion Wolford Keeling was a Union Prisoner of War in the notorious Andersonville Confederate prison camp, where his death was attributed to typhoid, by Records of the War Department Commissary General of Prisoners Relating to Federal Prisoners of War Confined at Andersonville, GA, 1864-65, Roll M1303_ pp. 1, 2, 3.[1]
