Thomas was born about 1830. He is the son of Isaac Keeling and Dolly Leam. He was christened on 14 February 1830 at Heage, Derbyshire.[1]
Thomas appears in the 1841 census living with his sibling at Duffield. Derbyshire. His parents do not appear to be listed in the census, either with the family or elsewhere.[2]
In 1851 he is found living with his parents and sibling at Staveley, Derbyshire. He, like his father and brothers, is working as a coal miner.[3]
Thomas married Hannah Daykin on 14 November 1854 at West Hallam, Derbyshire. [4]
Thomas and Hannah had at least eight children. They lived with their children in Staveley, Derbyshire 1861, then in 1871 and 1881 they were at Aston Cum Aughton, Yorkshire and in 1901 the family were at Beighton, Derbyshire. Thomas worked as a coal miner.[5][6][7][8][9]
In 1911 Thomas was a widower, still living in Bieghton with his daughter and family.[10]
