In the 1861 England Census John Kenleyside 52 born about 1809 in Allendale, Northumberland, England, lead ore smelter, was head of his household in Spital, Allendale, Northumberland. Other Household Members were his wife Mary Kenleyside 48 Allendale, and their children William Kenleyside 18 Allendale, James Kenleyside 15 Allendale, Ann Kenleyside 12 Allendale, Elizabeth Kenleyside 10 Allendale, Sarah Kenleyside 9 Allendale, and Jane Kenleyside 7 Allendale. His father in law James Hutchinson 71 Allendale, widower, proprietor of money, and mother Mary Kenleyside 88 Durham, widow, proprietor of money were also in residence. [2]
