He enlisted with the 1st Australian Imperial Force during the Great War.[2]
Leslie died in Burra in 1961,[3] and was interred in the Burra Cemetery.[4][5]

Death record indicates Leslie was married, headstone has wife's name as Lena. No married registered in South Australia and no newspaper notices of marriage in Genealogy SA database. Ford-7139 23:34, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
It appears that Leslie's wife is the same person as Lena Short who married his brother Stanley.
