Note: From the Kelsay Family History, given to me by Tom Goldrup, June, 1999:

By 1778 he is listed on a tax roll in Rockbridge County, Virginia, and in 1784 purchased land in Washington County, Northwest Territory of North Carolina (Tennessee)> His name appears often on various lists and records of Washington County. He dated his Last Will and Testament on February 23, 1795 and died later that year in Washington County. It appears as though Samuel was not married as he mentions no wife or children in his Will, but this document proves that the other children of John and Margaret named here are his brothers and sisters as he names all of them in his will except sister Mary who resided a long distance away.
