John Kemys was son of John Kemys and his wife, Agnes Stradling.[1] [2]
He married, by Crown license dated the 12th of December 1422, Margaret Russell, widow of Sir Gilbert Denys and eldest daughter of Sir Maurice Russell [3] and his wife, Isabel Childrey. [1] [2] She was mother of his son, Roger. [1] [2]
Prior to 1451 a license was granted to John and Margaret and to Margaret's sister, Isabel and her husband, Stephen Hatfield to grant one third of the Manor of Kingsfield and one third of Horsinton to John Stradling and Joan, his wife, for the latter's dower. [1]
Margaret died in 1460. [4]
John was executor of the will of William Lord Botreaux 1462-1466.[1]
He died in 1476, his inquisition post mortem being held in 1477.[1]
