Biography

Marian was born in 1849. She was the daughter of Charles Kensington and Olivia Maturin. [1]

Christening Date: 25 July 1849
Christening Place: Worton, Wiltshire, England[2]

UK Census Date 1861: Living with her parents and 8 siblings in High Street, Bruton, Somersetshire, England. Aged 12. Also in the household were two servants.

Marian emigrated from England to New Zealand with her parents and siblings on the ship William Miles, arriving on 12 November 1862, during the New Zealand Maori land wars.

She married Eric Goldsmith in 1873.[3]
