Biography

Bernis was born in 1877 in Topeka, LaGrange, IN. He was an only child, as his older sister had died as an infant. At the age of 21, he married [Waskey-30|Rosalie Waskey]. They initially moved to Akron, OH, but returned to LaGrange, IN by 1910. They had 3 children and Bernis worked in Agriculture Manufacturing.

His wife underwent a goiter operation when he was 63 and sadly did not survive. A couple years later he remarried to Bertha Sutton at the age of 65. He lived to 90 years of age and passed away in 1967.
