Janet was born in 1859. She was the daughter of James Kerr and Jane Hopgood. She passed away in 1943. She is buried at St Michael's Churchyard in Waimea West, Tasman. [1]

OBITUARY MRS C. A. PALMER
The death occurred on Monday evening of Mrs C. A. Palmer, of "Clarisbrook” Waimea West, in her 84th year. She was the only remaining daughter of the late James Kerr, one of the Waimea West pioneers. The late Mrs Palmer had always led a very active life and was well-known throughout the Waimeas. In the last war she was prominently associated with Red Cross activities in Waimea West. She leaves a family of four sons. Messrs Ken, Hubert, Mort., and Mon. Palmer, all of whom are farming in Waimea West. Her husband died 18 years ago. The funeral took place at St. Michael’s, Waimea West, on Wednesday Canon Bloyce conducted the service.
