John Key was the son of Joseph Key and Joyce Lamburn. He was baptised on 27 Sep 1777 at Lillingstone Loville, Buckinghamshire, England.[1]
He married Mary Scott (1784-1857) on 2 Sep 1805 at Water Stratford, Buckinghamshire, England. The marriage record in the Parish Register identifies John as of Livingstone Lovell and Mary as of Water Stratford.[2]
The couple had a number of children, baptised first in Shenley, Buckinghamshire, and later children baptised in Wicken, Northamptonshire. The couple with some of their children are found in the 1841 Census living in Thornborough, Buckinghamshire.[3]
And then in the 1851 Census, still in Thornborough, Buckinghamshire, with just one of their children and one grandson.[4]
The census taker seems to have some difficulty with the parish names, recording Linstone Loville/Darrell, but it can be seen that these refer to Lillingstone Loville/Darrell, the respective birthplaces of the parents.
John Key died on 13 Nov 1863 and is buried in the church yard of St Mary the Virgin, Thornborough, Buckinghamshire, England.[5][6]
