Noah was born in 1848. He was the son of John Kilgore and Atocia Williams. He passed away in 1925.

There was a wedding in town last Monday that was a little out of the ordinary and the officiating official was C. F. Shepherd who used the old time broom stick ceremony in true Indian style, the same taking place at the home of Mr. Shepherd.

The bridal couple was Noah Kilgore of near Kent and Miss Ophelia Lytle of the same place and they came all the way to Corning to get married in a good town and in approved style. They are all getting to come to Corning for that purpose. In this they show good taste.

This was not the first time the bride and groom had "jumped the broomstick" together. They did the same thing a number of years ago, secured a divorce, the bride married another they quit and now Mr. and Mrs. Kilgore are taking up the burden of double blessedness just where they left off a few seasons ago. They came to Corning in the morning and returned in the afternoon of the same day.

It was only a few weeks since Justice M. V. Spencer performed a similar ceremony for a couple residing in Corning, only they had been divorced but a few weeks. We do things here in Corning. We would like to write some poetry about this wedding, and would were it the right season of the year. The bridal couple are now receiving the congratulations of their friends.

Noah is the son of Atocia Ann Williams and John Kilgore. The year of birth on Noah's tombstone is wrong. It should be 1848, not 1847. See census data for 1850 and 1860.

Noah married Nancy Jane McVey on December 12, 1870 in Ringold County, Iowa with Minister D.L.Smith officiating and with witnesses William McVey and Henry L. Kilgore.

Noah and Nancy Jane had 10 children. Sherman, died in infancy. Nellie was born November 17, 1872 and married Joab Hayden Reeve. Laura was born August 31, 1874 and married Walter LeMaster. Rhoda was born: July 17, 1876 and died April 18, 1897 after giving birth to Arden who was raised by her sister Rose. Rosa was born: February 28, 1878 and married Veach Jones. Frank was born September 6, 1880 and died in 1909 He married Della Ballinger. Rose and Grace were their children. Emma was born on May 22, 1882, and she married John Weeber. Anna Pearl Kilgore (Hubbard) born: March 23, 1883; died February 23, 1923; They had eight children. Oscar Otto Kilgore was born on April 4, 1885 Jessie was born on July 21, 1889; She married twice. Her 2nd husband was A. Fisher with whom she had nine children.
