FUNERAL SERVICES ARE HELD FOR J. KILLGORE

WESTON - Jesse Fewell Killgore passed away October 10, 1948, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Iva Ritchey, in Forest Grove, Ore., at the age of 99 years and one month.

He was born in October, 1949 in Alvira County, Missouri, and 20 years later was united in marriage to Mary Jane Line. They came to Oregon with their family in 1875, and in June, 1876, located on a homestead a few mile north of Weston. Mr. Killgore farmed here successfully for 32 years and retired in 1908, when he went to the Willamette Valley. He served at one time as Mayor of Cornelius. He retained his homestead near Weston, together with added holdings.

Surviving the departed pioneer are four children, Mrs Iva Ritchey of Forest Grove, W. P. Killgore of Whitebird, Ida, J. R. Killgore of Los Angeles, and J. H. Killgore of Cornelius. He also left 13 Grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Usually known as "Uncle Jess, " he was a man of high character and and industrious and worthy citizen. He had long been a member of the Masonic order and the I.O.O.G., and was affiliated with the Christian Church.

The funeral was held at Forest Grove, October 13 under Masonic auspices.
