Ann (Killins) Shipley is Notable.
Ann Shipley was a Canadian politician. From 1943 to 1952, she was reeve of Teck Township, Ontario. She represented the riding of Timiskaming, Ontario, in the 22nd Canadian Parliament. In 1955, she became the first woman to move acceptance in the House of Commons of a Speech from the Throne.[1]
Marie Annie Killins was born on 8 Apr 1899 in Southwold, Ontario. She was the daughter of William Killins and Mary Lamont.[2][3]
She married Dr. Manley Adair Shipley on 10 Jun 1925 in Toronto, Ontario.[4] They lived for many years in Kirkland Lake, Ontario.
She died in 1981 in Ottawa, Ontario, survived by two daughters and a son.[5]
