Christian was born in 1838. His birthplace was given as Langenton, Guttern, Germany, in his son William's death record.^[1] Could this be Langenton in Gottschee, Carniola, Kingdom of Illyria, which is a German-speaking region in what is now Slovenia?

Christian Kimmel married Sarah Ecki October 1, 1861, in Holmes County, Ohio, USA.^[2][3] They lived in Dayton in 1870, where Christian was a machinist.^[4]

He passed away September 18, 1893, in Chicago, Illinois. ^[5]
